Job summary

A nonprofit organization in Derry/Londonderry seeks a Learning & Development Officer to lead training for Peer Mentors under the Peace of Mind project. The ideal candidate will design and evaluate development programs, support mentors, and ensure alignment with project goals. Applicants need a Level 4 qualification in Education & Training and at least three years of relevant experience. A valid UK driving license is mandatory. Salary is £31,346 per annum for 36 hours per week on a temporary contract.

Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning & Development Officer to join our team at Verbal for our Peace of Mind projects. This role is responsible for the growth and skill development of our Peer Mentors across the Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and manage development programmes aimed at enhancing the skills and competencies of our Peace of Mind Peer Mentors.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs by assessing the performance of Peer Mentors.
  • Provide ongoing support and coaching to Peer Mentors across schools that have been part of our Peace of Mind project.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Level 4 award in Education & Training or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a Learning & Development role
  • Experience in designing, delivering and developing training courses.
  • Experience in evaluating the effectiveness of training programs through performanceassessments and feedback analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and inspire learners.
  • Proven experience in mentoring and supporting individuals growth and development.
  • Applicants are required to hold a full, valid UK driving licence and have access to a reliable vehicle for work-related travel. This is a non-negotiable condition of employment.
  • Experience working in a results driven role, successfully delivering against targets.
  • Ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences.
  • Experience in delivering training to young people.
  • Excellent IT skills working with MS Office/Word/Excel.
