Job summary

Lead Scotland is seeking a part-time Learning Coordinator based in Aberdeenshire to deliver the Aberdeenshire Employability Service for disabled people and carers aged 16 to 67.

You will engage unpaid carers, support learners one-to-one, design and deliver learning programmes, travel across the rural area from your home base, and be prepared to obtain a PVG as required.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting disabled people with barriers to learning.
  • Experience delivering learning programmes and working one-to-one with learners.
  • Willingness to work towards Assessors Award.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver the Aberdeenshire Employability Service for disabled people and carers aged 16–67.
  • Support unpaid carers to overcome barriers and embark on personalised learning journeys, building digital skills.
  • Work as part of the Lead Scotland team in Aberdeenshire; travel to homes and communities across the rural area.

Job description

We seek a part-time (21 hours per week) Learning Coordinator to deliver Lead's Aberdeenshire Employability Service. This is a learning service for disabled people and carers aged 16 to 67 who experience barriers to work and education.

The successful applicant will be: Engaging and supporting unpaid carers to overcome barriers and embark on personalised learning journeys, building skills and confidence with using digital and online services to achieve their personal aims and ambitions. Being an active part of the Lead Scotland team in Aberdeenshire. Working from your home base in Aberdeenshire, access to transport is essential to travel to homes and communities across this rural area. It involves regulated work for which a satisfactory PVG will be required.

About you:

You will be passionate about the transformative power of adult learning, have excellent communication skills, and a flexible and creative approach to problem-solving. You will have great organisational skills and previous experience of supporting disabled people experiencing a range of barriers, of working one-to-one with learners, and of designing and delivering learning programmes. You will hold an Assessors Award or be willing to work towards this.
