Connected Voice in Newcastle is seeking an Experienced Learning Disability Skills practitioner to deliver training to small groups of adults with learning disabilities on a part-time basis. Sessions run both on-site at the Newcastle Hub and in the wider community, focusing on independent living and employment skills with ASDAN accreditation.
Applicants should hold a teaching or training qualification, have an enhanced DBS and safeguarding training, and be able to work with Easy Read formats.
Experienced Learning Disability Skills practitioner, with background in delivering training sessions to small groups of adults required. This is a permanent, part-time post based at our Newcastle Hub. Sessions are delivered both on site and in the wider community.
The sessions are designed to teach independent living and employment skills, health & wellbeing management to adults with intellectual (learning) disability and are ASDAN accredited. These are adults with conditions from birth impacting cognitive development with high associated sensory and physical co-morbidity. Conditions such as Down's, Prader-Willi cerebral palsy, Sotos and Williams Syndromes.
We will consider applicants from military backgrounds where a significant element of responsibilities has involved coaching or training groups of service personnel.
