AIRBUS Defence and Space Limited in Stevenage offers an internship placement in Industrial Management/MAIT. You will help implement Lean, OES, and performance improvements to drive factory efficiency.

Applicants must be undergraduates and demonstrate interest in mechanical, industrial, or related engineering fields. The role focuses on process improvement, KPI visualisation, and cross-site collaboration with Stevenage, Portsmouth, Friedrichshafen and Toulouse teams.

Qualifications

• Studying towards a degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related fields.
• Knowledge of PPS, Kaizen, and visual management in production environments.
• Experience in improvement projects and process optimisation.
• Some knowledge of coding and scripting.
• Good communication skills and a proactive mindset.
• Open minded, creative and entrepreneurial in approach.

Responsabilités

• Define and deliver a credible 12 month improvement plan for the site.
• Review and reduce MAIT Cost Base and Ready for Bid Price through improvements.
• Develop production dashboards and KPI visualisation.
• Coordinate multi-project oversight for facility footprint and resources.
• Implement and mature the Operational Excellence System (OES).
• Deliver Lean projects on Quality, on Time and on Cost.
• Drive problem solving and streamline processes.
• Report status and control costs and schedule.
• Promote standardised Lean MAIT processes across Stevenage/Portsmouth.
