Job summary

Siemens Gamesa in Hull is seeking a Business Improvement Support team member to drive continuous improvement across the site. You will collaborate with Operations, Quality Engineering, and Production to deliver improvement projects through JFI, KMS, and site initiatives, performing hands-on tasks and coordinating contractors.

You will install and relocate equipment, maintain documentation, and contribute to Lean Manufacturing and 5S to boost efficiency, safety, and performance on the factory

Qualifications

• Experience using hand tools and practical joinery skills.
• Experience with power tools and general maintenance or handyman activities.
• Strong understanding of health and safety standards in manufacturing or operational environments.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience or understanding of Lean Manufacturing and 5S methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Operations to identify and implement improvement opportunities through the JFI system.
• Support delivery of higher-level business improvement projects and site enhancements.
• Assist with Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives to improve workplace organisation and efficiency.
• Install, set up, relocate, and transport equipment and site assets as required.
• Create and maintain documentation to support improvement projects and processes.
• Support contractor management, permitting, and ensuring site compliance.
• Assist with Non-Conformance actions and continuous improvement activities from quality investigations.
• Review tooling and equipment through KMS and identify defective assets.
• Liaise with Quality Engineering to ensure calibrated tooling is available for production.
