Leadership Development Manager at Southern Water
Salary: Up to £66,000 based on experience
Southern Water is seeking a Leadership Development Manager to join our Learning & Development team. This managerial role is responsible for driving leadership and management development initiatives, processes, and systems to support the company's vision. The role involves influencing and challenging the organization to achieve business strategies by enabling employees to feel connected, informed, motivated, and high-performing through a variety of development interventions.
Accountabilities
- Lead a team of Leadership Development professionals, implementing and embedding LD strategies, action plans, and processes aligned with business objectives.
- Provide expertise, reporting, and insights on leadership and management development to the HR Leadership Team and key stakeholders.
- Build effective relationships with business stakeholders and People Partners to implement leadership development strategies and interventions.
- Manage budgets related to leadership development, including external contracts, balancing costs with long-term benefits, and negotiating budgets.
- Design and deliver organization-wide learning interventions, including mentoring, managing LD Trainers and their workloads.
- Offer coaching to senior leaders and managers to enhance their performance and behaviors.
- Apply psychometric testing and behavioral profiling knowledge for leaders and managers.
- Provide solutions to key challenges and evaluate the financial success of training schemes.
- Persuade senior and middle management to support Learning & Development initiatives.
- Communicate effectively in writing and speaking, and plan and organize development activities.
- Design and facilitate engaging content, take initiative, and be responsible for decision outcomes.
- Lead and motivate teams effectively and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Knowledge & Qualifications
- Experience in large, complex organizations with multiple stakeholders, including matrix relationships.
- Knowledge of current HR practices and continuous professional development (CPD).
- Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing large-scale learning & development activities.
- Extensive experience in Learning & Development and HR qualifications, such as CIPD or equivalent.
- Qualifications in behavioral profiling, psychometric testing, and coaching are desirable.
