Job summary

BAM Ground Engineering is recruiting a Senior Utility Surveyor to lead PAS 128 utility surveys and detection services, combining hands-on delivery with shaping a growing service area. You will initially lead the delivery of PAS 128 surveys and utility detection services while supporting development of systems, standards and processes for future growth.

You will carry out utility mapping projects, operate detection instruments, and post-process survey data to produce PAS 128 compliant outputs.

Qualifications

• Multiple years' experience delivering Utility surveys, preferably in a senior or leadership role.
• Strong understanding of PAS 128 and TSA is essential.
• Proficient in surveying technologies including ground penetrating radar and electromagnetic location systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with clients and managing project teams.
• Clean and valid manual driving license.
• Relevant qualifications in surveying are desirable.
• Strong educational background in Math and English with GCSEs at least C or above.
• Ability to travel nationwide for projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead utility survey projects from start to finish, ensuring high standards.
• Provide specialist technical support to ensure project delivery on time, budget and quality.
• Utilise modern surveying methods and equipment, including total stations, GPS, and GPR.
• Record underground utility assets and manhole inspection reports.
• Deliver completed utility survey reports to Project Managers and CAD Operators.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships for successful outcomes.
• Mentor and guide junior surveyors and assist their development.
• Conduct quality checks on onsite data and ensure smooth transition to final deliverables.
• Maintain the functionality of all survey equipment and manage safety planning.
