Job summary

BAM Ground Engineering is seeking a Senior Utility Surveyor to lead utility surveying projects and grow our PAS 128 capability. The role blends hands-on field delivery with developing processes, standards and a growing service area.

You will oversee days of utility mapping, use GPR, GPS and total stations, mentor junior staff and support business development while maintaining safety and client focus.

Qualifications

• Multiple years' experience delivering utility surveys, preferably in a senior or leadership role.
• Strong understanding of PAS 128 and TSA; proficiency with surveying technologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with clients and project teams.
• Clean and valid driving licence; willingness to travel nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Lead utility survey projects from start to finish to meet time, budget and quality targets.
• Provide specialist technical support for efficient project delivery.
• Utilise modern methods and equipment including GPR, GPS and total stations.
• Record underground utility assets and manhole inspection data accurately.
• Deliver PAS 128 compliant survey outputs to Project Managers and CAD Operators.
• Build strong client relationships and provide technical advice during quotes.
• Mentor junior surveyors and support their professional development.
• Perform onsite quality checks and ensure smooth handover to final deliverables.
• Maintain functionality of survey equipment and contribute to safety planning.
