Job summary

BAM Ground Engineering is seeking a Senior Utility Surveyor in the UK to lead PAS 128 utility surveys and detection services. The role combines hands-on field delivery with developing systems and processes for a growing service area.

You will manage projects, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with clients and office teams to ensure quality outputs and compliant reporting. Travel to sites nationwide is typical as required.

Qualifications

• Proven track record delivering PAS 128 utility surveys.
• Strong knowledge of PAS 128 and utility surveying best practices.
• Experience with GPR, EM locating and survey instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead utility survey projects from start to finish with high quality output.
• Provide technical support to ensure delivery on time, budget and quality.
• Utilise total stations, GPS and GPR for data collection and processing.
• Record underground utility assets and manhole information accurately.
• Deliver surveyed outputs to PMs and CAD operators per standards.
• Build and maintain client relationships and support project quoting.
• Mentor junior surveyors and support their development.
• Perform onsite quality checks and ensure smooth handover to final deliverables.
• Maintain survey equipment and contribute to health and safety planning.
