Job summary

The Lead Technical Writer at Post Office will be a key member of the Enterprise Architecture team, responsible for documenting functional strategies, modelling the Post Office behaviours and delivering clear, accessible documentation across large-scale platforms.

You will standardise tools and processes, collaborate with software engineers, architects and product managers, and drive governance of documentation to support transformation initiatives.

Qualifications

• Significant experience as a Technical Writer within an architecture or technology organisation, supporting large-scale business transformation initiatives.
• Experience documenting complex distributed systems and enterprise platforms.
• Proven ability to work with software engineers, architects, product managers, and operational teams.
• Experience implementing documentation governance frameworks.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and accessible documentation.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Excellent organisational and information structuring capabilities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
• Passion for documentation excellence and continuous improvement.
• Familiarity with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF and modelling standards such as UML.
