Job summary

Empresaria UK Ltd. is recruiting a Technical Documentation Manager for a defence and aerospace client in the UK. You will own the documentation and information management function across complex engineering programmes.

You will lead technical authors, coordinate external publishing partners, define standards and governance, and ensure outputs are compliant, clear and consistent. Hybrid working combines office, client sites and remote work.

Qualifications

• Experience in defence, aerospace or other highly regulated engineering environments.
• Knowledge of technical publications, structured authoring or military documentation standards.
• Experience managing technical authors, suppliers or external delivery teams.
• Ability to engage with customers and translate requirements into documentation solutions.
• Proactive mindset focused on improving processes and adopting new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of technical documentation for complex defence programmes.
• Manage and coordinate external documentation providers and publishing partners.
• Define documentation requirements, standards and governance processes.
• Review and approve documentation outputs for quality, consistency and compliance.
• Act as a key interface between engineering teams, customers and external stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement across documentation tools, processes and ways of working.
