Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking a Senior Leader for Grid Automation in the United Kingdom. You will lead the day-to-day operations of an engineering team within Grid Automation, allocate work, manage priorities, and resolve conflicts while supporting engineers through technical and professional challenges.

You will represent your domain in discussions with Project Managers, customers, and discipline leads, driving consistency, quality, and continuous improvement to shape the team’s future direction.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience managing engineers or technical teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to represent the domain to customers and senior leadership.
• Experience making sound decisions balancing delivery pressure, quality and team well-being.
• Technical background in HV substations, SCADA/RTU, and OT networking is valued.
• Servant-leadership approach with accountability.

Responsibilities

• Lead Daily Operations: oversee work allocation and prioritization within the team.
• Own Capability and Standards: ensure consistent ways of working across the team.
• Coach and Develop Engineers: identify gaps and shape development plans.
• Influence Hiring and Promotions: contribute to building a strong team.
• Serve as Senior Point of Contact: represent domain in project discussions with customers and cross-discipline teams.
