Job summary
RINA in the United Kingdom seeks a highly experienced Lead Design Engineer to join its Power Systems Consulting team, delivering complex substation design and power systems studies for major energy clients. The role offers hybrid working and requires living within commuting distance of an office in Manchester, Leatherhead, Chippenham, or Lincoln.

Qualifications
- Electrical engineering degree required; Chartered status preferred.
- Experience delivering substation projects up to 400 kV.
- Knowledge of ENA/BS/IEC/IEEE/ANSI standards.
- Mentoring junior engineers and graduates.
- Strong UK regulatory knowledge and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Lead substation design projects from 11 kV to 400 kV ensuring compliance and safety.
- Lead client meetings and technical workshops on substation engineering.
- Produce detailed design packages aligned with national/international standards (ENA, BS, IEC, IEEE, ANSI).
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports and equipment specifications.
- Develop technical documentation for FEED and concept-stage projects.
- Ensure QA and CDM compliance across projects.
- Drive Safety-by-Design across projects.
- Provide input to budgets, schedules, forecasts and risk management.
- Mentor junior engineers and graduates.
