Job summary

Hastings Direct seeks an experienced Subsidence Claims Operations Manager to lead the Home Subsidence team. This hybrid role in Leicester or Bexhill focuses on operational performance, team leadership and portfolio control, aligning customer outcomes with technical and financial objectives.

You will translate priorities into clear performance plans, drive improvements through MI, and collaborate with the Subsidence Technical Controller to embed strategies and governance across the claims

Qualifications

Proven operational leader in home claims/subsidence with supervision of claims handlers.
Excellent knowledge of insurance claims practices and subsidence management.
Strong ability to interrogate data in MIS and identify trends.
Experience balancing customer outcomes, technical accuracy and indemnity control.
Coaching and people leadership with development planning.

Responsibilities

Lead, coach and develop the Subsidence claims team with clear objectives.
Maintain routines for timely claim progression, reporting and ownership.
Oversee claim setup, assessment, reserving, progression and resolution.
Analyse MI to drive improvements in claims lifecycle and customer outcomes.
Plan resources and budgets, escalate risks as needed.
Work with Subsidence Technical Controller to embed strategies and controls.
Manage relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to improve outcomes.
