Job summary

Loungers plc. through Durano Lounge, a local café bar, is seeking a passionate Sous Chef to join the kitchen team on a full-time basis. You’ll support the Head Chef, lead shifts, and ensure every dish leaving the pass meets high standards.

Qualifications

• Experience as Sous Chef or Junior Sous Chef or a talented Chef de Partie ready to take next step.
• Passionate about fresh ingredients, clean specs and food that goes out right every time.
• Reliable and punctual with a collaborative, team-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead kitchen shifts with confidence, keeping service smooth, organised and on spec from prep through to the final plate.
• Be the Head Chef’s right hand — supporting day-to-day operations and stepping up in their absence.
• Set the tone for high standards on the pass, with attention to food quality, pace, cleanliness, hygiene and safety.
• Take ownership of key kitchen routines including prep and par, stock control, waste, orders and effective shift handovers.
• Coach and support the team around you, helping chefs build confidence and deliver great food every shift.
