Job summary

Portello Lounge, part of Loungers plc, is seeking a full-time Sous Chef to join the kitchen team. You’ll support the Head Chef, lead shifts, and ensure every dish leaving the pass meets high standards.

Qualifications

• Experience as Sous Chef or equivalent (e.g., Junior Sous/ Chef de Partie).
• Ability to lead service from prep through to final plate.
• Commitment to high standards of cleanliness, safety and food quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead kitchen shifts with confidence, keeping service smooth and on spec.
• Support the Head Chef and step up in their absence.
• Set the tone for high standards on the pass, ensuring quality and speed.
• Manage prep, stock, waste and timely shift handovers.
• Coach and develop the team to deliver great food each shift.
