Loungers plc, via Vivo Lounge, is hiring a full-time Sous Chef to join the kitchen team. As part of Loungers, you'll lead shifts, support the Head Chef, and ensure every dish is plated to the highest standard.

This permanent role offers a 48-hour contract (40 hours optional), overtime, an achievable bonus, and staff meals on every shift. It also includes generous discounts and clear progression paths through in-house training.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Sous Chef or Chef de Partie with leadership duties.
• Ability to lead kitchen shifts and maintain high standards on the pass.
• Strong teamwork and mentoring skills to develop junior chefs.
• Passion for fresh ingredients and clean kitchen practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead kitchen shifts with confidence, keeping service smooth from prep through to the final plate.
• Be the Head Chef’s right hand — supporting day-to-day operations, stepping up in their absence.
• Set the tone for high standards on the pass, with a sharp eye for food quality, pace, cleanliness, hygiene and safety.
• Take ownership of key kitchen routines including prep and par, stock control, waste, orders and effective shift handovers.
• Coach and support the team around you, helping new and existing chefs build confidence, grow their skills and deliver great food every shift.
