Job Description

Lead Solution Architect - AWS Cloud Focused - Remote

Up to £100,000 p/a + performance-related bonuses + additional bonuses.

Note: To apply for this role, candidates must either be Security Cleared or be eligible for Security Clearance up to 'SC' level. This role is primarily remote with occasional travel to London every few weeks to visit the client site.

Responsibilities

1. Lead the design and delivery of complex cloud platforms.
2. Architect large-scale distributed systems, particularly on AWS.
3. Shape technical strategy and lead architecture design.
4. Mentor teams across cloud transformation projects.
5. Ensure architectural standards meet business and compliance requirements.
6. Optimize performance and manage cloud costs.

Requirements

• At least 8 years’ experience in architecting large-scale distributed systems.
• Deep expertise in designing secure, scalable infrastructures using AWS, Kubernetes, Kafka, and Java-based microservices.
• Strong understanding of cloud security best practices, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and event-driven design.
• AWS certifications.
• Experience with other cloud platforms (Azure or GCP).
• Background in serverless technologies, compliance (GDPR, HIPAA), and zero-trust security models.
• Experience with DevOps tools and a focus on DevOps practices is highly advantageous.
