Lead Solution Architect - AWS Cloud Focused - Remote

£100,000 p/a + performance-related bonuses + additional incentives

This role is based in Bristol & South Wales, with remote working options. Candidates must be Security Cleared or eligible for Security Clearance up to 'SC' level. Occasional travel to London is required.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Lead Solution Architect to lead the design and delivery of complex, cloud-native platforms. The ideal candidate has at least 8 years’ experience in architecting large-scale distributed systems, especially on AWS.

Key Responsibilities

• Design secure, scalable infrastructures using AWS, Kubernetes, Kafka, and Java microservices.
• Shape technical strategy, lead architecture design, and mentor teams on cloud transformation projects.
• Ensure architectural standards meet business and compliance requirements.
• Optimize performance and manage cloud costs.

Required Skills and Experience

• Deep expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, Kafka, Java microservices.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, event-driven design.
• Leadership, communication, and hands-on technical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS certifications.
• Experience with Azure or GCP.
• Background in serverless, compliance (GDPR, HIPAA), zero-trust security models.
• Experience with DevOps tools and practices.
