Job summary

J.P. Morgan is seeking a Lead Software Engineer within the Core Foundational Platforms team in the UK. You will contribute as a core technical contributor, delivering trusted, scalable technology products in a secure, agile environment.

You will lead design reviews, drive automation and AI-enabled SDLC initiatives, collaborate with vendors and internal teams, and uphold governance, security, and resiliency while advancing delivery speed and code quality.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
• 5+ years of applied experience in software engineering.
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, development, testing and operational stability.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Go, Python, React, Java).
• Experience with automation and continuous delivery methods (Terraform, Ansible).
• In-depth knowledge of SDLC and agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Execute creative software solutions and troubleshoot complex problems.
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and review others' code.
• Improve operational stability by addressing recurring issues and automation.
