Job summary

J.P. Morgan is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join the Client Onboarding & KYC team within Corporate Technology in the UK.

You will build and enhance applications that support corporate functions across the firm, contributing end-to-end in an Agile environment with a focus on quality and secure coding practices. You will collaborate with global teams, drive design patterns, and implement AI-assisted development to accelerate delivery while maintaining robust documentation and testing

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience.
• Proficiency in Java development with J2EE server technologies (Web Services, Spring, ORM frameworks, XML, EJB, JMS).
• Working knowledge of CI/CD and build tooling (Jenkins, TeamCity, Maven).
• Knowledge of design patterns, UML, and OO concepts.
• Knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
• Experience with source control tools (Bitbucket).
• UI technologies including HTML5 and JavaScript.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools, evaluating outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows and secure handling of data.

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software and new product capabilities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver outcomes aligned to business needs.
• Communicate development progress, risks, and dependencies to the team and stakeholders.
• Apply Agile practices to support iterative delivery and continuous improvement.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for reliable builds and deployments.
• Use OO design and patterns to create scalable solutions.
• Produce technical documentation and support knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to code quality through reviews, testing practices, and defect resolution.
• Lead adoption of enterprise AI-assisted engineering practices to improve quality and speed.
