Job summary

Barratt Developments plc is seeking a Site Manager to lead the construction of developments across the UK, reporting to the Contracts Manager. You’ll manage site health and safety, the build programme, cost control, and customer care, while coordinating labour, materials, and trades to ensure quality delivery.

You will drive inspections with NHBC and Local Building Inspectors, supervise toolbox talks, and liaise with internal teams and Sales to ensure on-time completions and high customer

Qualifications

• Extensive experience delivering to an established build programme.
• Proven ability to hit weekly targets through effective labour planning.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
• Strong leadership with the ability to drive teams to high standards.
• Able to prioritise tasks and adapt to changing business needs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure site compliance with H&S standards, NHBC, Building Regulations and quality standards.
• Coordinate labour and resources to deliver the build programme and schedule trades.
• Control material levels on site to balance stock and programme needs.
• Oversee quality checks, rectify defects and minimise time/cost impacts.
• Monitor production costs and approve payments to contractors and trades.
• Lead plot inspections with NHBC/Local Building Inspector and address actions.
• Conduct toolbox talks and on-site briefings to keep teams informed.
• Collaborate with internal departments, suppliers and sales to ensure smooth delivery.
• Maintain high standard site presentation and customer-focused handovers.
• Support Contracts Manager to resource the on-site team and clarify roles.
