Job summary

Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is seeking a Cook in Charge at Llantrisant Primary School. This part-time, term-time role covers school meals operation between 9am and 2:30pm, Monday to Friday, with approximately 4.5 hours daily.

You will lead cooking, serving meals, and ensure food safety, portion control and supervision of kitchen staff.

The post is permanent within a supportive team, focusing on nutritious meals for pupils and safeguarding responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Experience cooking for large volumes of customers.
• Good communication skills and a proactive attitude.
• Ability to plan logically and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve meals, snacks and beverages, including dietary requirements.
• Operate kitchen in line with Food Safety and Health & Safety guidelines.
• Order food and sundries and manage portions to meet budget.
• Undertake digital administration and paperwork.
• Supervise staff in the food preparation area.
• Communicate with staff and customers professionally.
