Job summary

Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Catering Services is seeking an Assistant Cook for Ysgol Cambrian. The role is part-time (20 hours per week), term-time only, with a permanent contract at Grade 3 (£13.70 per hour). Working hours typically 9am to 2pm, Monday to Friday.

You will assist with food preparation, cooking, serving, and maintaining high hygiene standards while ensuring allergen procedures are followed. Training in food safety and safety policies will be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience of cooking for large volumes of customers.
• Awareness of allergens and the allergen procedure.
• Good communication and a positive, action-focused attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Cook in Charge with daily preparation, cooking and serving of meals.
• Maintain kitchen operations in line with food safety and health and safety policies.
• Complete relevant paperwork including the digital food safety management system accurately.
• Keep areas hygienic and maintain high standards of cleanliness.
• Assist with stock control and ordering of supplies.
• Cover for the Cook in Charge during sickness or absence.
