Job summary

Bridgend County Borough Council Catering Services is seeking an assistant cook for Cynffig Comprehensive School. The role supports the cook, helps prepare universal primary free school meals, and coordinates daily kitchen tasks during term time.

Hours are 12.5 per week, 10:00–14:00, Monday to Friday, within term time. A Welsh language greeting capability and an Enhanced DBS check are required for this post.

Qualifications

• Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate is required for this post.
• The ability to greet customers in Welsh is a requirement for this post.
• An Enhanced DBS check with Children's Barred List is required.

Responsibilities

• Support the cook with the preparation of universal primary free school meals.
• Assist with day to day activities and coordinate kitchen tasks.
• Cover the Cook in their absence and at other schools within the County Borough.
• Ensure a quality service is provided to all customers.
