Job summary

Rhondda Cynon Taf Council's Catering Services are seeking a Cook in Charge at Llantrisant Primary School. The role is part-time (22.5 hours per week), term time only, roughly 4.5 hours daily from 9:00 to 14:30, Monday to Friday, with responsibility for preparing, cooking and serving meals within a safe, compliant kitchen.

The successful candidate will supervise staff, manage food orders and digital admin, and ensure adherence to Food Safety and Health & Safety guidelines while meeting budget

Qualifications

• Experience cooking for large volumes and the ability to manage a busy kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Preparation, cooking and serving of all meals, snacks and beverages including dietary requirements and medical/dietitian recommendations.
• Operate the kitchen in accordance with Food Safety and Health and Safety legislation and policies.
• Order adequate food and sundries and meet financial objectives via effective portion control.
• Undertake digital administration and associated paperwork.
• Supervise staff within the food preparation area.
• Communicate with staff and customers in a pleasant and professional manner.
