Job summary

Rhonda Cynon Taf County Borough Council is seeking a Cook in Charge for Llantrisant Primary School. The role is term-time, part-time (22.5 hours/week, usually 9:00–14:30, Monday to Friday), and permanent within the catering services division.

You will lead food preparation and service for students and ensure compliance with safety regulations. The successful candidate will demonstrate experience cooking for large volumes, strong communication, and a proactive, organized approach under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve meals, snacks and drinks including dietary requirements.
• Operate kitchen following Food Safety and Health & Safety guidelines.
• Order food and sundries and manage portions to meet financial objectives.
• Undertake digital administration and related paperwork.
• Supervise staff in the food preparation area and maintain professional communication.
