Job summary

Rhondda Cynon Taf Council's Catering Services are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to undertake the role of Cook in Charge at Ysgol Cambrian. Working hours will be approximately 5 hours a day, usually between 9am and 2pm, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities include preparation, cooking and serving of meals and beverages, ensuring food safety and health and safety compliance, ordering supplies, supervising staff, and maintaining clear communications with staff and customers.

Responsibilities

• Preparation, cooking and serving of all meals, snacks and beverages including any medically prescribed dietary requirements, appropriate care plan and/or medical or dietitians' recommendation.
• To operate the kitchen in accordance with legislation, guidelines, policies and procedures in relation to Food Safety and Health and Safety.
• To order adequate food and sundries and ensure that the catering operation meets the site/establishments financial objectives to include effective portion control.
• Undertake digital administration and associated paperwork.
• Supervision of all staff working within the food preparation area.
• To communicate with staff and customers in a pleasant and professional manner at all times.
• Have experience of cooking for large volumes of customer.
