Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking a Senior/ Principal Track Engineer – Specialist to lead and deliver track engineering projects across the UK.

The role involves coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams and mentoring junior engineers while supporting major rail schemes in the UK, Ireland and beyond. You will work across London, Manchester, and Birmingham with time in offices and on project sites, contributing to feasibility through detailed design and implementation while upholding safety and

Qualifications

• A strong technical background in track engineering, with knowledges of the key discipline interface
• Experience of delivering projects to a variety of different standards, including Network Rail and EuroNorms
• Strong experience across multiple parts of the full project lifecycle from initial feasibility studies to detailed design and implementation
• Experience undertaking the role of Track Lead Designer as CRE or Deputy CRE as appropriate to size of project
• A desire to travel internationally
• Chartered or Incorporated registration with a relevant professional engineering institution.

Responsibilities

• Taking a leading role on project delivery as a Lead Designer or in an Integration role
• Working collaboratively with multi-disciplines to develop engineering solutions from a technical perspective
• Supporting the wider track community through contributing to development design process and tools
• Mentoring and supporting the development of the next generation of engineers
• Supporting major projects in the UK, Ireland and globally including schemes like East West Rail, Northern Powerhouse Rail and Dublin Metrolink
• Setting an example for health, safety and welfare on your projects and instilling a strong safety culture within the delivery team
• Leading design coordination activities such as integrated design reviews and promoting digitalisation to aid delivery.
