Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley seeks a Principal Process Engineer to lead process design across water projects in the UK, from concept to commissioning. You will ensure designs meet legislation and standards while collaborating with commercial, operational and construction teams.

Strong background in chemical/process engineering, HAZOP experience, and chartered status are highly regarded. The role supports flexible working in a senior, impact-focused capacity within the water sector.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or related process engineering field.
• Chartered membership or equivalent experience in a relevant institution (ICE/IMeche).
• Experience delivering process design for wastewater projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee process design, planning, and execution on projects; develop process design deliverables (process models, mass balances, control philosophies).
• Analyse site performance; identify risks; develop mitigations to protect project delivery.
• Challenge process selections to ensure best value solutions for clients.
