Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley is seeking a Principal Process Engineer to lead process design across water and wastewater projects from feasibility through commissioning. You will coordinate with design, construction and commercial teams to deliver compliant, safe and efficient solutions in the South West region.

The role requires chartership and strong project management skills. The successful candidate will mentor engineers, ensure regulatory compliance, and travel to site as needed.

Qualifications

• Degree in Process Engineering or related field.
• CEng chartership with a relevant engineering institution.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Experience delivering high-quality outputs meeting design, quality and safety standards.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel to sites across the region.
• Water/wastewater experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the design, planning, and execution of process engineering on projects.
• Providing design support and guidance for schemes and ensuring all designs are fit for purpose and meet current legislation and standards.
• Work closely with commercial, operational and construction teams to develop efficient, practical and safe solutions during design, construction and beyond.
• Interact with the client to manage relationships and support a one-team approach.
• Manage interfaces and integration of process design with other disciplines and documentation production.
• Act as technical checker on project documents and provide technical reviews across teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes including standard designs, sustainable solutions, and digital tools.
• Undertake site reviews to ensure buildability and integration with existing systems.
• Support development of the process engineering team, mentoring engineers and allocating resources.
