Job summary

WGM Engineering Ltd, part of the RSK Group, is seeking a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Technical & Design team in a permanent, full-time role based in Glasgow, with hybrid working. You will lead mechanical design delivery across multidisciplinary water and wastewater projects, shaping solutions from concept through construction support.

Qualifications

Significant experience in mechanical design within water, wastewater, utilities or related engineering environments.
Knowledge of pumps, pipework, valves and mechanical process equipment.
Experience leading or coordinating mechanical design packages and reviews.
Good understanding of multidisciplinary design coordination, constructability and design risk.
Knowledge of UK engineering standards and CDM 2015.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate mechanical design packages from concept to construction support.
Develop practical engineering solutions across pumps, pipework, valves and related systems.
Produce, review and approve design deliverables (P&IDs, layouts, schedules, specs, WIMES).
Coordinate mechanical designs with Civil, Process, Electrical, ICA and Construction teams.
