Job summary

WGM Engineering seeks a Civil Design Engineer to join the Technical & Design team from its Glasgow base, with hybrid working. The role will relocate to Stepps within 6 months and involves delivering civil design across water and wastewater projects, from concept to commissioning.

You will work in a multidisciplinary team, developing buildable reinforced concrete solutions and collaborating with Process, Mechanical, Electrical and Construction teams to translate design into site outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required.
• Relevant experience in civil engineering design is essential.
• Experience designing reinforced concrete structures and foundations.

Responsibilities

• Develop civil design concepts into practical, buildable solutions.
• Produce design calculations and technical documentation.
• Design reinforced concrete structures, foundations, slabs and channels.
• Undertake site surveys to support design development.
• Manage civil design packages from concept to construction support.
• Collaborate with Process, Mechanical, Electrical and Construction teams.
• Support site teams with technical queries and problem solving.
• Apply Eurocodes, British Standards and CDM 2015 requirements.
• Participate in design reviews and drive standardisation and improvement.
