Job summary

RSE in the United Kingdom is seeking a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join our in-house design team. You will lead mechanical design across projects from scoping to construction support, ensuring compliance with client specs and low-carbon standards.

You will mentor engineers, manage design deliverables, and collaborate with Delivery Management to drive programme success. A Chartered status and water/wastewater experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Degree/HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered engineer with a relevant professional body is preferrable.
• Mechanical design engineering experience within municipal water/wastewater treatment sector.
• Design management/lead experience.
• Programme/financial management experience.
• Experience of working at all design stages, from optioneering/FEED through to construction support and As-Built is highly desirable.
• Possess the ability to work on multiple projects consecutively.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to discuss specific intervention requirements.
• Lead the planning and implementation of projects in association with our Delivery Management teams.
• Provide technical guidance on Mechanical matters to the wider project team and Senior Management.
• Line management and development of mechanical engineers within your team.
• Take the lead on the development of Mechanical design deliverables by you and your team.
• Mentor, identify and develop the next generation of Mechanical Engineering talent.
• Ensure compliance with Client specification and current regulatory and industry standards.
