Job summary

WGM Engineering Ltd., part of RSK Group, invites applications for a Mechanical Designer to join the Technical & Design team on a permanent contract based in Glasgow with hybrid working arrangements.

The role involves supporting multidisciplinary engineering projects across mechanical disciplines, from concept through to detailed design, commissioning and completion, with a focus on quality, safety and client service.

Qualifications

• Subject specific technical knowledge.
• Commercial awareness in engineering.
• Eye for detail and methodical work process.
• IT and CAD knowledge.
• Analytical and numeracy skills.
• Creative problem solving ability.
• Effective communication with team members, clients and contractors.
• 32 days' holiday, increasing to 36 days with service length.

Responsibilities

• Support the design team and produce designs and associated deliverables for a range of projects.
• Ensure all design work complies with QA policies and specifications.
• Attend sites to assist with surveys and data gathering.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external contacts to maximise efficiencies.
• Integrate as a key member of a multi-disciplinary design team.
