Job summary

MEPJOBS UK seeks a Senior/Principal Mechanical Building Services Engineer to lead the design and delivery of HVAC, water services and allied systems for infrastructure and Ministry of Justice projects in the UK.

You will lead mechanical delivery on individual projects or across a portfolio, coordinating with electrical, structural and architectural teams to ensure compliant, high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.
• Extensive mechanical building-services design experience.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plant, water services and energy-efficient design.
• Experience leading technical delivery in multidisciplinary environments.
• Knowledge of Building Regulations, British Standards and CDM.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of heating, ventilation, cooling, domestic water and drainage systems.
• Prepare calculations, drawings and technical reports.
• Lead projects from survey to handover and commissioning.
• Act as mechanical technical lead or Design Team Lead as needed.
• Coordinate with electrical, structural and architectural teams.
• Provide design reviews and quality assurance.
• Develop practical solutions for new-build, refurbishment and upgrades.
• Manage quality, risks, budget and programme.
• Engage with clients and contractors; present proposals.
