Job summary

Morgan Hunt is seeking a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services) to lead mechanical design across diverse building services projects in the UK. You will take technical responsibility from concept through to construction, mentor engineers and ensure compliance with UK standards.

The role requires strong HVAC knowledge, proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit MEP, and excellent client-facing communications.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
• Senior or Principal level experience or demonstrated technical leadership.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC and mechanical building services systems.
• Experience delivering projects through concept, detailed design and construction stages.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP.
• Good understanding of UK standards, regulations and industry guidance.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills.
• CEng or working towards chartership is desirable.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services) to join a large scale multidisciplinary engineering consultancy. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineer looking to take a lead role on a range of exciting, challenging and high quality notable projects in sectors such as Power, Custodial, Education, Aviation, Nuclear, Defence, Life Sciences and more. The Role

You will take technical responsibility for mechanical building services design, working from concept through to detailed design and delivery. You’ll work closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams, provide technical leadership and support the development of junior engineers.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading mechanical design across a range of building services projects.
