Job summary

Morson Human Resources Limited is recruiting a Senior or Principal Mechanical Building Services Engineer for a leading UK infrastructure consultancy. You will lead the design and delivery of mechanical building-services across infrastructure and Ministry of Justice projects, including prisons and other secure facilities.

Depending on your experience, you will lead mechanical delivery on individual projects or provide technical leadership across a portfolio of complex schemes, coordinating with

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or related field.
• Extensive mechanical building-services design experience.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, mechanical plant, water services, controls, and energy-efficient design.
• Experience leading technical delivery within multidisciplinary project environments.
• Knowledge of Building Regulations, British Standards and CDM.
• Experience in design reviews, technical assurance and quality management.
• Strong commercial, client and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, BIM platforms and mechanical calculation software.
• Chartered or Incorporated status with CIBSE or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of heating, ventilation, cooling, domestic water and drainage systems.
• Prepare and check calculations, specifications, drawings, schedules and reports.
• Lead projects from survey and concept to handover and commissioning.
• Coordinate mechanical designs with other disciplines.
• Manage quality, risks, budgets and programme commitments.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and suppliers; present proposals.
• Mentor engineers and technicians; contribute to bids and work-winning activities.
• At Principal level, support resource planning and people management.
