Job summary

Leonardo UK is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to provide technical leadership across a major programme, translating customer needs into a robust, verifiable radar system. You will work with the SEM to ensure MBSE processes are applied effectively throughout the lifecycle.

Role involves coordinating with international teams, governing requirements and verification, and delivering on time, cost, and quality milestones within a grade-based salary framework.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in systems engineering across the full lifecycle.
• Knowledge of MBSE approaches and tools (SysML, Cameo, DOORS).
• Proven capability leading system definition, requirements, and verification.
• Experience in complex, multi‑disciplinary engineering environments.
• Ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly to varied stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall technical leadership for systems engineering across the project scope.
• Lead MBSE activities and improve tool knowledge within the team.
• Coordinate MBSE with international teams and ensure governance consistency.
• Support design reviews (PDR, CDR, TRR) and ensure artifacts are produced.
