hackajob is partnering with Leonardo to hire a Lead Systems Engineer in Edinburgh. The role focuses on technical leadership, planning, and execution of systems engineering across a programme to deliver a robust, verifiable radar system.

You will work with the SEM and other stakeholders to apply MBSE practices and governance. The role requires experience across full lifecycle systems engineering, MBSE tools, and collaboration with international teams to meet milestones, budgets, and quality

Qualifications

• Experience across the full lifecycle of systems engineering in complex projects.
• Proven MBSE approach usage including model-based methods and tools.
• Ability to translate customer needs into verifiable system solutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for systems engineering activities across the scope of the project.
• Lead MBSE activities and act as MBSE point of contact with international teams.
• Support design reviews (PDR/CDR/TRR) and governance artifacts.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure architecture, interfaces, and budgets align.
