Job summary

South Norfolk and Broadland Councils are seeking an experienced IHAT Manager to lead the delivery of the Disabled Facilities Grant and housing adaptations across Broadland and South Norfolk. The role focuses on performance, improvement and ensuring high-quality outcomes for vulnerable residents.

You will line-manage staff, oversee complex cases, interpret relevant legislation and work with partners to maximise funding and deliver excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant subject, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience leading teams in a busy operational environment.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and people management skills.
• Ability to interpret complex information and legislation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) and Integrated Housing Adaptations Team (IHAT) service, ensuring high-quality, customer-focused outcomes and compliance with legislation, policies and grant conditions.
• Provide line management, leadership and operational oversight for designated staff, deputising for the Housing Standards Senior Manager when required.
• Manage complex housing adaptation and DFG cases, providing specialist technical advice and collaborating with residents, occupational therapists, contractors and partners.
• Monitor service performance, budgets and grant funding, maximizing resources to support service delivery.
• Drive service improvement, transformation and partnership working, including project management, policy development and performance reporting.
