Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is recruiting for a Disabled Facilities Grant Officer in Hackney, London. The 3-month contract role focuses on delivering a high-quality adaptations service to enable disabled residents to live independently and safely in their homes.

You will assess grant applications, review therapy recommendations, conduct inspections, prepare specifications, and monitor works to ensure compliance and value for money.

Qualifications

• Experience administering Disabled Facilities Grants and home adaptation schemes.
• Experience interpreting Occupational Therapist recommendations and implementing practical housing solutions.
• Experience carrying out property inspections, surveys, and technical assessments.
• Experience preparing specifications, drawings, schedules of work, and project documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assess and process DFG applications from enquiry through to completion.
• Review OT recommendations and determine appropriate adaptation solutions.
• Conduct financial means-testing to determine grant eligibility.
• Provide guidance to applicants, families, carers and professionals on the DFG process.
• Inspect and survey residential properties.
• Assess housing conditions and identify adaptation requirements.
• Prepare specifications, drawings, schedules of work, and cost estimates.
• Ensure proposed adaptations comply with building regulations and health and safety requirements.
