Job summary

Jacobs in the UK is expanding its highways capability and seeks experienced Principal Engineers to lead safe, practical highways design solutions for national clients. You will mentor engineers and guide design teams, delivering projects that meet quality, time and budget targets.

You will collaborate with UK and international specialists, tackling challenging design problems and integrating automation to improve processes.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering local and major highways projects.
• Knowledge of DMRB or international equivalents.
• Strong understanding of UK H&S legislation.
• Ability to work independently within a global multi-disciplinary team.
• Experience with financial management of projects.
• Attained a relevant professional qualification (CEng/IEng or equivalent).
• Experience solving design challenges across transport sectors.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of safe, practical highways design solutions for clients including national authorities and major contractors.
• Mentor engineers and support their development across projects.
• Guide design teams, solve technical challenges and improve processes.
• Collaborate with specialists across the UK and internationally to meet quality, programme and budget commitments.
• Contribute to major transport programmes or complex projects across aviation and water as appropriate.
