Job summary

Jacobs is expanding its UK highways capability and invites experienced Principal Engineers to join. You will lead the delivery of safe, practical highways design solutions for clients including National Highways and local authorities, while mentoring teams and shaping design processes.

The role offers flexible hybrid working, opportunities to work on major programmes, and the chance to influence Jacobs’ highways and civils capability across the UK.

Qualifications

• Experience in engineering design solutions for transportation projects.
• Knowledge of DMRB or international design standards.
• Understanding of UK health and safety legislation.
• Professional qualification such as CEng or IEng.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of safe, practical highways design solutions for clients including National Highways and major contractors.
• Guide design teams and solve complex design challenges.
• Mentor engineers and support their development across the UK and international teams.
• Improve design processes and contribute to programme and budget commitments.
