Clarkson Owens Recruitment is seeking an experienced General Foreman for a large-scale civil engineering project based in Perth. The role focuses on overseeing groundworks operations with a hands-on approach on site.

The ideal candidate will bring proven supervisory experience in civil engineering, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to lead site operatives while maintaining clear client communication. Rate negotiable based on experience; freelance position available until year-end.

Competenze

• Proven experience as a General Foreman or similar supervisory role in civil engineering or groundworks.
• Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering and groundworks operations.
• Practical experience in drainage, reinforced concrete, roads and hard landscaping.
• Experience managing site operatives and coordinating day-to-day site activities.
• Hands-on leadership with ability to lead from the front and support site delivery.
• Strong communication and organisational skills, including liaising with clients.
• Good understanding of site health and safety, quality control and construction programmes.
• CSCS and SSSTS are a minimum requirement.
• Ability to work independently, solve problems and drive productivity on site.

• Oversee and coordinate day-to-day groundworks and civil engineering operations on site.
• Take a hands-on approach to site activities, supporting the delivery of works where required.
• Manage and supervise site operatives, ensuring productivity and work is completed to programme.
• Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors to ensure efficient site operations.
• Oversee works including drainage, reinforced concrete, road construction and hard landscaping.
• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications and quality standards.
• Maintain health, safety and environmental compliance on site.
• Monitor progress against programme and address issues affecting delivery.
• Liaise with client, site management team and project stakeholders.
• Identify and resolve site issues with practical solutions.
• Maintain clear communication across the site team and report progress to senior management.
