Job summary

Abatec Recruitment is representing a Tier 1 civil engineering contractor in seeking an experienced Freelance General Foreman for a highway improvement scheme. You will supervise daily site activities, coordinating with the Site Manager, engineers and subcontractors on safety, quality and programme.

Requirements include CSCS, First Aid, NRSWA and SMSTS, plus strong communication and leadership. This role is on-site with competitive daily rates (£350-£400) within CIS Umbrella.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as General Foreman or supervisory role in highways/civil engineering.
• Excellent communication, organisation and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation, RAMS and safe systems of work.

Job description

We are currently recruiting an experienced Freelance General Foreman on behalf of our client, a Tier 1 civil engineering contractor, to support the delivery of a highway improvement scheme.

This is an excellent opportunity for a suitably experienced highways professional to join an established site team and oversee the safe and efficient delivery of highway improvement works.

Working closely with the Site Manager, engineers, subcontractors and site operatives, you will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of site activities, ensuring works are completed safely, to the required quality standards and in line with the project programme.

As General Foreman you will:

• Have proven experience as a General Foreman or similar supervisory role within highways or civil engineering.
• Have strong knowledge of highways construction and improvement works.
• Be Responsible for supervising site operatives and subcontractors.
• Have a good understanding of health and safety legislation, RAMS and safe systems of work.

Our client requires a General Foreman with:

• Valid CSCS, First Aid, NRSWA & SMSTS
• Excellent communication, organisation and leadership skills.
• Experience working on civil engineering projects including highways and section 278 works.

Salary and benefits include:

• £350-£400 per day CIS Umbrella
