Job summary

Outsource UK is seeking a Senior/Lead Electrical Engineer to join a high-performing engineering environment supporting the design and manufacture of advanced semiconductor equipment. You will lead a team of engineers, ensure safety compliance, and drive modular design across programmes in a hybrid Bristol-based setting.

The role requires a degree in Electrical Engineering with senior experience in product design, governance, and regulated contexts.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (Bachelors minimum; Masters desirable).
• Significant experience in electrical engineering design and development.
• Proven ability to coordinate projects, apply governance methods, and lead teams.
• Experience in regulated, compliance-driven environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering activity across product and system development programmes.
• Work at the core of engineering and product development teams to deliver solutions from ambiguous requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define work packages and deliverables.
• Take accountability for technical elements of design, including risk and escalation.
• Drive modularity and standardisation to maximise reuse and efficiency.
• Own safety and type testing activities ensuring verification and validation.
• Review and approve technical reports and documentation produced by the team.
• Mentor and coach engineers across experience levels towards leadership roles.
