Job summary

BMR Solutions Ltd. is seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to head a growing team in the semiconductor equipment sector. You will drive design from concept through to customer commissioning, shaping engineering strategy with focus on safety, quality and delivery.

You will mentor engineers, manage risks and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project milestones in a high-tech environment. Hybrid work in Bristol supports flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Degree required in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Significant product development experience in a regulated industry.
• Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards (EN/UL61010, EN60204, EMC).
• Experience leading projects and coordinating technical teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership is desirable.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to join a high-tech engineering business at the forefront of semiconductor equipment manufacturing.

In this role, you will lead, mentor and develop a growing team of Electrical Engineers, driving projects from concept and design through to customer commissioning and field trials. You'll play a key role in shaping engineering strategy, ensuring products are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest technical standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Electrical Engineers.
• Drive electrical system and subsystem design from concept through to delivery.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, directives and safety requirements.
• Manage technical risks, validation and verification activities.
• Promote standardisation, modularity and engineering best practice.
• Collaborate with project managers, manufacturing, service teams and customers.
• Coach and mentor engineers to support their professional development.

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Significant experience in product development and electrical engineering within a regulated industry.
• Strong knowledge of electrical safety and compliance standards, including EN/UL61010, EN60204, EMC and functional safety standards.
• Experience leading engineering projects and coordinating technical teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills.
• Proven ability to mentor and develop engineers.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership is desirable.
• Semiconductor equipment industry experience would be advantageous.
