Job summary

Zego is hiring a Lead Data Engineer to own and evolve our data platform. You’ll build scalable, secure data systems and mentor peers, collaborating with Engineering, Data Science, Analytics, and Product to ensure reliable, future-proof data infrastructure.

You’ll design and implement data pipelines and architectures using Python, SQL, Snowflake, Iceberg, AWS, Airflow, dbt, Spark, and related tools, while promoting best practices and a culture of technical excellence.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a Data Engineer on scalable data platforms
• Experience designing, building, and operating ETL/ELT pipelines
• Hands-on with modern data stacks: Python, SQL, Snowflake, Iceberg, AWS S3, Postgres, Airflow, dbt, Spark; deployed via AWS, Docker, Terraform
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor others

Responsibilities

• Act as a senior technical reference point for the Data Engineering team
• Mentor and coach engineers to deliver high-quality work
• Promote best practices in data engineering, including testing, CI/CD, observability, and IaC
• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines, warehouses, and streaming systems
• Collaborate with analytics, data science, and product teams
• Contribute to the technical roadmap for data engineering
