Job summary

Zego is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to join the data engineering function, building and evolving our data platform to support rapid growth. You will design scalable data systems and collaborate across Engineering, Data Science, Analytics, and Product to ensure reliable data infrastructure.

This hands-on role emphasizes sharing knowledge, code reviews, and technical excellence while contributing to architectural decisions and roadmap delivery.

Qualifications

• 4+ years as a Data Engineer on scalable data platforms.
• Experience designing, building, and operating ETL/ELT pipelines and large-scale data architectures.
• Hands-on experience with Python, SQL, Snowflake, Apache Iceberg, AWS S3, PostgresDB, Airflow, dbt, and Apache Spark deployed via AWS, Docker, and Terraform.
• Ability to work with cross-functional stakeholders and translate technical concepts into business value.
• Experience mentoring engineers through code reviews and pairing.

Responsibilities

• Act as a strong technical contributor within the Data Engineering team.
• Support and help less experienced engineers grow through pairing, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
• Promote best practices in data engineering, including testing, CI/CD, observability, and infrastructure as code.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable and secure data pipelines, warehouses, and streaming systems.
• Ensure data is modeled and structured to meet analytics, data science, and operational use cases.
• Partner with teams across the business to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.
